Overview
The BAG (Basisregistratie Adressen en Gebouwen) is the most comprehensive register of addresses and buildings in the Netherlands. Maintained by municipalities and centralized by Kadaster, it contains data on all addresses (nummeraanduidingen), buildings (panden), residences and commercial units (verblijfsobjecten), public spaces (openbare ruimten), and residences (standplaatsen/ligplaatsen). Each object has detailed geometry data and lifecycle status tracking. The BAG is freely available as open data and is fundamental for geocoding, address validation, and building analytics in the Netherlands.
